a tribute to bad, selfish, bratty behavior,
By Jack London Fan "Bookworm" (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Flicka 2 (DVD)
Carrie, the main character in this movie, is a selfish, spoiled brat. She causes numerous problems for her father, problems that are not only inconveniences, but are costly to her father's business and livelihood. Unbelievably, she shows absolutely no remorse for her actions. Instead, she cares only about the ramifications for herself. If I were a parent showing this movie to my kids, I would include a lengthy discussion of this girl's horrible, selfish, remorseless behavior after the viewing. To omit this discussion would be a disservice to kids who, undoubtedly, would come away with the message that it is OK to do exactly as you please and damn the consequences--and not need to feel bad about it, either. By the way, this movie has very little to do with horses or Flicka. It is all about this bratty girl and her bad behavior. There are other better movies out there that model good behavior and are actually about horses.
