A musical entry into the world of David Lynch and Angelo Badalementi,
By
This review is from: Floating Into the Night (Audio CD)
With this first collaboration between the singer Julee Cruise, David Lynch (lyrics) and Angelo Badalementi (music), an incredible musical and surrealistic universe invades our ears. Indeed, this album contains original songs, but also work from precedent David Lynch projects (eg: Mysteries of Love for Blue Velvet, and also Falling, Nightingale and The World Spins, three songs that were in Twin Peaks). Thematically, those artists present to us the concept of Love with such a grace and poetic images that it enables us to rediscover new aspects from the David Lynch films, but also to engulf our imgination, inviting us to discover romantic images, hidden deep within our subconscious. As such, this album is a real pleasure with which we can discover images of dreams, other aspects from David Lynch's works, and also - and most importantly - the incredible power of Julee Cruise`s voice.

This review is from: Floating Into the Night (Audio CD)
I have read some of the reviews here that describe the album as having a jazzy feel to it.I disagree.I think the songs are dreamlike and radiate sheer beauty. It really is a desert ilsand classic.''Rocking back inside my heart''is my favorite track.

a must have for all david lynch/ angelo badlamenti / "twin peaks" fans. this is a disc that holds together well as an album, with a consistant mellow beauty that can be enjoyed with or without knowledge of the references to "twin peaks" that it contains.cruise's voice is cherubic, and creates a tone remeniscent of the following: cocteau twins, the ep "a folding seive" by shiFt, hope sandoval/ mazzy star, some tracks of rachel's album "selenography".
