5.0 out of 5 stars SPLENDID MUSIC, VERY WELL EXECUTED AT A BUDGET PRICE. DON'T LOSE IT! Oct. 17 2005
By V. FH - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I have no words to describe this superb music composed by Ariosti. The poetry, with its alllegory, describes the cycle of love, its flowering and fading. All this supported by great music, recorded in world premiere.

The performers, the ensemble Musica Solare, soprano Laurie Raviol and mezzo Truike van der Poel are unknown, but believe me, did a great a job. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful music July 30 2007
By HSIEH CHENG CHUNG - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I couldn't describe how beautiful it's when i finished listenning all, it reopen a new vision to my imagine of cantatas. Ariosti's cantatas, are different with Bach's and more near to italy's style, keeping more opera factors in it, more beautiful bel canto. We could find this tradition from Cesti, A. Scarlatti, and Handel---, I found it had been ingored in today, and we seldom have a chance to find from CDs. However, you wouldn't be disappointed of it, I believe.
