1.0 out of 5 stars Gave up......, Feb 1 2010
By
This review is from: Fluffer (Widescreen) (DVD)
I ordered this DVD as I had heard much about "fluffers" and I guess I was curious to find out more. However the movie opened with a washed up "Hollywood" actor Robert Somebody who was terribly miscast! The younger fellow was attractive and as they sat in the office sharing a joint, I found the acting bad and the dialogue even worse. I must admit that I turned the movie off and never watched it again. Judging by other reviewers, it seems I didn't give this video a chance; therefore I regret that I cannot give a complete and wholesome review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Believable acting with a story in a tailspin..., May 14 2003

I was surprised at the overall tone of sadness and depression in this movie. The actors, who very believably played struggling youths growing up in a porn/stripper world, were the highlight of this film. Maybe the script needs more credit for the intentional lack of flair and in the end is VERY believable.

This is not a "feel good" movie, so don't expect a sense of happiness at the conclusion. After watching a convoluted movie like this and knowing these types of situations DO exist in real life, made me thankful my life is "simple" compared to this.

This film won't win any Oscars, but it's worth the watch for it's raw production value...4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great movie to See, Trust Me, May 10 2003

This movie is just terrific. I loved it so much. My loving it was a big surprise, because of what it is about and by the fact that I am straight. I saw this movie when I caught it on cable. This movie is witty and smart. The acting is phenomenal, and the story is good also. This movie is about a man that rent's Citizen Kane, but get's Citizen Cum. Citizen Cum features a young, good looking attractive man named Johnny Rebel. This man becomes obsessed with Johnny and ends up becoming his fluffer. Later you find out Johnny is not even gay, he is straight and doing gay porn for pay, and you end up wondering why anyone would be attracted to Johnny. This movie is great, and trust me, the acting is great, especially from Michael Cunio and Scott Gurney. Scott is definately great as Johnny Rebel. His looks are great also. My self-esteem and confidence droped by 100% when he came on the screen. Watch this, it is great.
