I absolutely love this CD! He does these songs perfect, in my opinion. Speaking of opinions and we are all entitled to one for sure, I strongly disagree with the other review about Mr. Stewart only recording other's songs. That is not to say that these songs have not been recorded by many other artists, but he gives them his special touch and it sure is a pleasure for me to listen to this, as well as his other Great American Songbook CD's. Granted I am in my 50's and may be able to relate to these songs more than some people but dang I cannot help but either smile or even dance solo when he sings. That is not say I don't enjoy the heck out of Meatloaf, Bob Seger, Usher, etc. but this is definitely toe-tapping, smiling getting and even solo dancing music. Kudos to you Mr. Stewart and thank you for lifting my mood many times over.

I like Rod, he shows high wide range of music when he did this album but I love the songs that he brought to hits. He tries to add his special touch but I really couldn't get into this album.

Another great album of oldies but goodies by
a revitalized, revamped Rod Stewart. He is only
getting better as the years go by . . . .

I'm a big fan of Rod's early work in the late 60's and early 70's, but I must admit he did a great job with these old classics. I have all the Songbooks and this is the best. The catchy arrangements and excellent musicianship showcase Rod's vocals perfectly and bring a very fresh cool vibe to these great old songs. And the duets are minimal - that's a good thing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done ol boy!
