Book Description

“The enzymes of the human digestive system are subject to certain restrictions. If we eat in such a way as to cause these limitations to be exceeded, we suffer digestive problems.” This colour book makes food combining simple. It is totally comprehensive, explaining food combining – what it is and why it works – as well as providing a delicious range of appropriate recipes. It also goes beyond the reach of standard food combining texts by including masses of easy to read information about nutrition and how our digestive system works. The Food Combining Bible explains the five different food groups – Protein – Starch – Sugar – Fat – Acid, showing •which foods fit into each category • good combinations to go for and bad combinations to avoid It also provides a helpful guide to the herbs and spices which can be used in cooking to help with digestion and general health. Food combining makes everyone feel better – and thousands can testify that food combining makes a difference: eases digestive discomfort, wind and bloating. • promotes weight loss to achieve ideal weight. • can relieve skin problems such as psoriasis, eczema, itching & acne. • increases general feelings of wellbeing, helping to balance mood swings. • boosts and sustains energy levels.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's careless!!, May 11 2003

This review is from: Food Combining Bible (Paperback)
Lots of colour pictures, nice layout etc make this book easy on the eye. But they've made such a 'negligent error' that you should think twice before buying. The whole idea about food combinations is represented by a diagram on pg 45 which uses arrows to show the foods you can and cannot combine. The problem is THEY'VE MISSED OUT HALF OF THE ARROWS!! It's just silly. OK you can piece together the rest of the diagram if you read the book but, hey come on, we're paying money for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars a real bible for a healthier life, Feb 10 2005
By annie - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Food Combining Bible (Paperback)
This book is perfect if you are looking for a book that promotes healthy food. No protein powders, diet pills, supplements, but just clean fresh food. The author explaines really well how the digestive system is working, all beautifully illustrated.

Montignac's system in fact was based on the food combining principles.

The book includes a vast amount of recipes and lots of practical quideliness for a healthy lifestyle.

This book is not about a diet, a quick fix to loose weight, but a complete change of lifestyle. Gradually i became convinced this is the way to go. I feel much more energetic since i started following the principles explained in the book. The fact that this book is not followed by a lawine of special marketed products you should buy, tells you that this is a genuine attempt to advocate a healthier lifestyle.

5.0 out of 5 stars a beautiful, fantastic book!, April 22 2005
By Forrest Wilson - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Food Combining Bible (Paperback)
This book is exceptionally well written. The author/s are as clear as a bell, and very fact oriented. They update hay and sheltons outdated theories with current understanding of human anatomy and physiology. On top of that, it is gorgeous to look at, a big book loaded with professional (often contemporary-especially the recipe pics) color photographs. It is selling for $15, it probably cost more to print it! I recommend it very highly!

The only discrepancy is that the one that shipped to me has a different cover than the one pictured, expect to get an artistic close up of a lemon or something. It is not a big thing I actually prefer the one I received to the one amazon has a picture of.
