Digger hits his stride, Mar 12 2007

This review is from: Fool's Flight (Paperback)
Warren Murphy only wrote three "Digger" novels before changing publishers and re-launching it as "Trace." They really are the same series, only the names of the characters were changed.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Digger is an investigator who works for a life insurance company. He drinks vodka 24/7 and sleeps with every woman he can get his hands on. He's not terribly bright and his girl friend (a part time hooker) solves all of his cases.
In this second book, the series really took off and it was undoubtedly the best of the Digger (or Trace) books. Murphy was at his best providing juvenile quips and a number of times I found myself laughing out loud. The humor is tied to a very interesting mystery and the combination makes this a surprisingly entertaining read.
This book is long out of print but can be purchased for almost nothing from the Amazon sellers. Give it a try and you won't be sorry.
