3.0 out of 5 stars Slice of life soft yaoi that cost me $8 July 9 2012
By Jessie Potts - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First let me just say that the price tags of kindle yaoi are ticking me off. The samples aren't long enough to determine if you'll like the story, just the art work, and whether or not the speech bubbles are readable. Second while I get that the paper back versions are upwards of $12-$16 in those versions we usually get a few colored pages and the ability to lend them out and I usually pre order them when they are at $6 or so. Ok now on to the story,

This was a typical slice of life Shonnen Ai. The only yaoi portion of this was in a dream, really that was it. Apart from one of the characters dream, the most that happens is kissing. Kanbara and Matsunaga are classmates. Matsunaga basically serial dates (though not as bad as most I have read) and flits from girl to girl, thus he is deemed the Love Butterfly. Kanbara is gay and had a bad middle school experience so one of his best friends who is a girl is also his 'girlfriend'. He has loved Matsunaga for a long time, but lacks the confidence and proper equipment to catch Matsunaga's eye.

It's sweet, it's a bit cheesy and a bit typical. The art is classic and clean, and on the kindle/iPad, the speech bubbles are very easy to read and discernible. It's also a longer yaoi so we get to know the characters and their story a bit more. If you are dabbling in the bishonnen field then go ahead and pick this up, it's sweet and won't scare you off. If you're looking for something different or harder then pass on this one.
2.0 out of 5 stars Confusing boys love story Aug. 27 2013

The drawings are very good and the characterizations are realistic, but the plot left me wanting. I have no idea why these two boys got together at the end of the story. Kanbara had a bad experience in middle school when he confessed to a boy, and he knows how horrible Matsunaga is to the girls he dates. You would think he would go for someone kind, gentle and gay, but he must have Matsunaga. Matsunaga likes Kanbara for some reason. I am completely puzzled why he wants his gay friend. He didn't suddenly turn gay, or confessed new and strange feelings, or shown any desire to be with him. He is also a poor friend, who admits to not knowing anything about Matsunaga. So why is it he suddenly wants to date him? He's not gay and probably get dumped because there is no character development where he vows to treat people better. Kanbara says he is Matsunaga's only friend. So how about trying to be a better friend first? It isn't a very realistic story, and it doesn't make much sense.
4.0 out of 5 stars 18+ Mature content - it is not - Soft slow love story. Oct. 3 2012
By Rebecca Longmire - Published on Amazon.com

This was a good over all title to read. However, I was disappointed as I purchased it because of the rating on the book 18+. I was looking for some smut tonight, and this one does not deliver in that area at all. I think a 16+ just because of the dream sequence and the suggestion of what was happening would have been more appropriate.
It was a not a true yaoi manga. It was just a nice coming of age, slice of life, boys love story.
It was still a good easy read. Nice art, and the speach bubbles were easy to read.
If you are looking for a good boys love story without the smut and or love/sex scenes then this one is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet. July 26 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This story is exactly what I said, story.
There isn't any smut, let alone general romantic contact.
This is definitely shonen-ai, not yaoi.
If you want a bittersweet love story, read this.
