- The problem with America

For anyone who's ever been driven to wonder just what is the matter with people these days, For Crying Out Loud is the perfect riposte.

5.0 out of 5 stars Politically incorrect and hilarious, July 2 2010
This review is from: For Crying Out Loud (Paperback)
Jeremy Clarkson's collected rants are always good value. He manages to be cutting, clever and congenial in almost every essay; just the thing to pick up when you need a good chuckle.

4.0 out of 5 stars Take it with a grain of salt but it SURE is entertaining!, Aug 29 2011

This review is from: For Crying Out Loud (Hardcover)
This review is for the hardcover edition measuring 9 1/2 X 6 1/4 and having 288 pages.
Well......you're either a fan of Jeremy's or you think he's a stark raving lunatic belly-acher....your choice.
Me...I love him and the main reason is that he's RIGHT....many of the things he whines and bitches about are true....they DO bother us but we are afraid to say anything....he isn't.
One of my favorites is street 'homeless' people...the ones that look as if they haven't had a wash in a year and beg money to eat.
Unfortunately many have a companion dog so Jeremy's standard reply to them is...."Eat the dog....then we'll talk".
I laughed until the tears ran down my cheeks.
I won't say more and anyway if this variety of complaining doesn't appeal to you then don't buy it....it goes on forever!
The only drawback for a Canadian is many of the references are political and unless you're up on your John Major political Brit scene it might just get by you...no mind...the rest is worth the $.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny As Hell, Jun 7 2011

Jeremy Clarkson is funny as hell in this, his third volume of "For Crying Out Loud" books. While a few of the British references were lost on me (as I'm an American) it was definitely worth buying for the hilarity that ensues. If only I could get his column, would definitely help my day go by better.

4.0 out of 5 stars For Crying Out Loud, Jan 29 2011
By Spider Monkey - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: For Crying Out Loud (Paperback)
Say what you will about Jeremy Clarkson, he is very funny to read, completely irreverent and delightfully politically incorrect. I can't say I agree with everything he says, but you don't have to to find his articles amusing. If you've read the first two volumes of `The World according to Clarkson' series then you'll know what to expect from this. This is another collection of his articles from his weekly column and they are written with as much acerbic wit as his other books. He pulls no punches and covers topics as varied as blowing up a seal (!), children's school reports, British tourists and way more besides. Each article is written in four pages and all with his cutting sense of humour that can make you cringe and smile at the same time. If you've read his other books and enjoyed them, then it's a safe bet that this will be right up your street as well. Grumpy and funny as hell.

The book is what I thought it would be - Light reading! You might agree or disagree with what is written but it is a light hearted dig at many things which annoy most of us. Just the type of book for the next long plane journey!!
