What an incredibly sad story...told from the mother's point of view.
One can only imaging what horror she went through waiting and hoping for good news.
She takes us through EVERY horrifying stop she went through waiting for information and for that it is VERY poignant BUT if true crime and trials are your preferred books then this will disappoint you for it brings almost nothing new to the story.
She was in some contact with both the murderers AND the brother-in-law who, thankfully turned them in for their final capture and incarceration but from these contacts we hear almost NOTHING NEW or enlightening to the story.
I sympathize with Mrs. West and her 'husband' for what they had to go through but as a crime story it does not succeed.
On an emotional level, if you're interested in a book that will make you cry...it's up there....but that's all.
Not my style but with a caveat I will recommend it.
