Review

>p/SvhFaa<“>

For the Love of Soup feels like it was compiled by a kind and considerate next-door neighbour. First-time author Mitchell has gone out of her way to make

For the Love of Soup as accessible as her recipes are enjoyable.” —Barbara-jo McIntosh, owner of Barbara-Jo’s Books to Cooks

For the Love of Soup is a delight to sell, and use in the kitchen, plus sales [of it] pay our rent every month!” —Alison Fryer, manager of Toronto’s The Cookbook Store

About the Author

Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Jeanelle Mitchell's dream of seeing the world was realized when she became a flight attendant. As she travelled the world, she realized food was a universal language, and she began to collect recipes. Jeanelle wanted to write a cookbook for several years before finding time when she retired to gather her notes and create recipes. Her first cookbook, For the Love of Soup, which she wrote to raise money for her handicapped nephew, was a bestseller, and continues to delight cooks across Canada. She lives in Toronto.

If you need pictures maybe you should stare at a "Where's Waldo?". If you need great salad ideas get this book.

Well worth it! Feb. 24 2011
By A. Taylor - Published on Amazon.com
I was bummed I couldn't see in this book before buying, so I went to CookThatBook's blog who reviewed it here but included images and test recipes in the blog. Her photos and comments were super informative and I heartily concur with her assessment. This is a beautiful book (love the drawings and colors) that contains easy, delicious, healthy recipes with easily findable ingredients. This book has helped me with my New Year's resolution to eat a better variety of produce and lower my blood pressure. It's also turned my husband (a self-proclaimed carnivore and a big boy) into an occasional salad lover. I'd call that $20 well spent. My only complaint - the book is lovely, but soft cover. If you spread it open fully to make the recipes, you crack the spine, making it a little less lovely.

I am enjoying this cookbook with lots of different types of salads - it's great for the summer!! I bought one for a gift and then one for myself after looking it over.
The chapters are divided nicely in types of salads. I am now anxious to try the same author's soup cookbook.

I make salads nightly and wanted to get some new flavor combinations. This book has several wonderful combinations. I love the dressings as well. Try the apple salad on page 22, pear salad on page 24, berry salad on page 26, orange salad on page 36...those are my favorites so far.
