It is part of my morning routine to keep me saner and away from the crutch of food. Better than any diet.

HASH(0xb5189360) out of 5 stars Let Go & Let God Nov. 22 2009

This is an excellent daily read for compulsive overeaters & those choosing to become abstinent in this area. If you realize your life is unmanageable in this area, it is the perfect addition to use daily. Very helpful.

HASH(0xb518978c) out of 5 stars For Today March 23 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
This book is very helpful to anyone. I suffer from depression and it makes the reader stop and think about important things. I guess the most important thing readers can learn is you are important and deserve everything healthy eaters do. Being thin is not the end-all heavy people dream it is; you have to accept yourself no matter if you are fat or thin or anything else.

HASH(0xb5189570) out of 5 stars Helpful affirmations to keep food and emotions in perspective June 17 2011
By Devon Bedford - Published on
Format: Imitation Leather
This book is helpful in keeping emotionally centered and maintaining resolve and
awareness about how physical, emotional and psychological forces that you have to
deal with everyday interact with your use, or sometimes misuse, of food in your life.

It is not a guidebook for a "cult". 12-Step programs don't work well for everyone. Some people need to follow the advice, structure and support that they offer very closely. Others find they can internalize a lot of the messages in the literature and traditions. A popular saying among 12-step programs is, "Take what you want and leave the rest." In other words, use the parts which work for you and pass on the rest of it. That is definitely not the philosophy or definition of a "cult" which demands rigid adherence and secrecy.

HASH(0xb5189b28) out of 5 stars I love this wonderful little book April 30 2013
By Susan Y. Butler - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I love this wonderful little meditation book. It's only missing one thing: that great little topic index that helps during a meeting, when one wants to locate all the readings that touch, for instance, on gratitude. I was depending on having this availabe. Otherwise, it's true love!

HASH(0xb5189d68) out of 5 stars Daily comfort while in program April 6 2011
By Natelle C. Bracken - Published on

What a wonderful way to deal with compulsive eating disorder: start the Overeaters Anonymous program. I've lost about 15 or more pounds since starting the program in August without dieting. The weight loss is secondary; what it's done for my relationship problems (friend relationship and all others) is much more important. The weight followed that. This book is a daily comfort. The words are wise and thought provoking. Keeps me in touch with my program and my higher power. Yes, AA and OA are cults, but who cares? The purpose of such fellowship programs is to arrest debilitating, life-ruining addiction diseases. I say, "OK!!!!"
