Cracking good read,
By
This review is from: Forbidden Cargo (Paperback)
RKR paints a vivid picture of life in 2010. Her dramatization of fear and ignorance is reminiscent of social commentary on par with Gibson or P. K. Dick. However, RKR makes her point with out being preachy and wraps it gloriously in the vein of a fun Cyber Punk gone nanotech wet ware novel. Her use of characters and situations form the thread of an interesting ethical and moral dilemma applicable to today's society. For a first novel this is an exceptional book on many different levels.

Great Pace,
By J. Bell "cenobyte" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Forbidden Cargo (Paperback)
Hard to believe this is a first novel. Rowe's pacing in "Forbidden Cargo" pushes the reader through the story without dropping a beat. It is a 'whodunit' mystery, a crime story, a comment on social structure and 'government machinations' at every level, yet it is by no means a pondersome read. The story is well told and enveloping.I have always been fond of stories with strong female characters. The mix of strength of character and naivete in Rowe's two primary characters is refreshing. The author seamlessly integrates artificial intelligence with humanity, and blurs the line between the two. This book is plausible and believable, but more importantly, the story is *told well*. Kudos to the author for a smashing debut. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful

Should be made into a movie!,

FORBIDDEN CARGO has it all. Stretching us around the corner of our neurons for a glimpse into the future. Action. Intrigue. Philosophical examination of what it means to be human. Exploration of ethical issues. Good hard fun! A clean read. When it comes out on the big screen -- and it should! -- you'll want to have read it and be able to say that you knew it would be a major motion picture hit. ~ Craig Yager, Former IB Coordinator, Whittier International School
