5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Ever After Nov 9 2006
Format:Audio CD
Happy Ever After brings a nuance to the dicotomy of our multicultural experience. We are trapped within our one dimensional genetic cultural experience but Julia has brought out the disctint African rhythms and transposed them into a wonderfully melodic moment for the average North American. What a sweetness and what a range of voice! And what a message! My new favourite song!

5.0 out of 5 stars Julia's DVD debut Jan 22 2005
By Phuong Trinh - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
Having been a long time fan it is wonderful having a souvenir of a concert performance of one of pop music's most distinctive voices of the past 17 years or so. The DVD sounds fabulous with a surround set up. The Dolby 5.1 track is much more realistic and emphasizes her voice to maximum effect. The video is fairly standard and seemed a bit grainy on my display but that is a minor quibble. Julia herself is in excellant voice although she seemed a bit nervous as compared to her live performances which I have witnessed. The song selection is weighted to her recent album, "That's Life", but her most popular tracks from her earlier albums are also interspersed. Any fan of sophisticated female pop-jazz stylings should try this out. One listen and you will be a fan forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Here's a track listing Feb 22 2005
By M. Cho - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
Just because no one appears to have done it, here's a track listing for the dvd:

1. Falling Forward

2. Lock and Key

3. Girlfriend

4. Foolish Thing

5. Porcelain

6. Lovin' You

7. Roadside Angel

8. Concrete Love

9. Perfect Me

10. Wake Up With You (The I Wanna Song)

11. Jump

12. Sugar

13. Love

14. Happy Ever After

15. Stay

16. More Than I Can Bear

17. Manhattan Skyline

18. Where Does the Time Go?

19. (Love Moves in) Mysterious Ways

20. I'm Sorry But...

Four out of the twenty songs are from her latest ("That's Life") - strictly numbers-wise, the list is more skewed towards "Concrete Love" than any of her other albums.

Anyways, just get it, and bask in the golden, velvet glow...

5.0 out of 5 stars I think you should buy this Jan 15 2006
By Bruce V. Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This performance is amazing. Julia Fordham has been one of my favorites for years, ever since "Porcelain" hit the charts. Yes, it's true that her pitch wanders a bit, but this is to be expected. I doubt that she does enough live performances to keep her voice in perfect shape. Elton John is the same, listen to "Live in Australia". You just need to feel this performance instead of critiquing it with a pitch meter. And then, brother, you are in for a treat. She twists and bends to wrench every bit out of every note. Her enthusiasm is infectious, she smiles all the time. She looks like she's absolutely in the moment. The band rocks. The bass line is nice and heavy but the vocals come through clear as a bell. Great mixing, in my opinion. I'm lucky I bought this.
