Book Description

Jun 29 2010 Scot Harvath
#1 New York Times Bestselling Author

Navy SEAL turned covert operative Scot Harvath is called to action once again in Brad Thor’s hottest political thriller yet.

Buried within the black ops budgets of the Department of Defense, a new spy agency has been created.  Unfettered by the oversight of self-serving politicians, it reports only to a secret panel of military insiders.  Its job is to target America’s enemies - both foreign and domestic - under a charter of three simple words: Find, Fix, and Finish.

Recruited as a field operative, Scot Harvath has just returned from his first assignment abroad when a bombing in Rome kills a group of American college students. The evidence points to a dangerous colleague from Harvath’s past and a plan for further attacks on an unimaginable scale.

Harvath is tasked with leveraging his relationship to lure the man out of hiding and kill him on the spot.  But what if it is the wrong man?

Simultaneously, a young woman is struck by a taxi in a hit-and-run in Chicago.  With only two intoxicated witnesses and over five thousand cabs in the city, the Chicago Police have given up on their investigation.  But when the family’s attorney digs deeper, he will uncover a shocking connection to the bombing in Rome and the perpetrators’ plans for America.

As the story rockets to its conclusion, the plots intersect in a race to prevent one of the most audacious and unthinkable acts of war in the history of mankind.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another superb novel by Mr, Thor July 23 2010
By Chris J. Collins TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Hardcover
As indicated in another review, I owe my thanks to being guided to Brad Thor from my daughter. He captured me in his book "The Apostle" which then led me to this publication. I was not disappointed.

I purchased the book yesterday and in between daily duties at the house, was unable to put it down finishing it today. It is that type of novel. Very well written. Scot Harvath is once again called upon to save the world or in this case, several key cities throughout Europe and a target in U.S. from terrorist cells. His interaction with a female Delta unit and British agents is nicely portrayed.

Ultimately, the book leads the reader into wanting to see what the conclusion is; as it allows the "bad guys", some leeway in their attempt at anarchy and winning (do not want to give it away). The main plot blends in very nicely with the secondary, bringing them together for a nice interaction (very short term though).

The reader is left with Scot of course moving on and no doubt to his next adventure, which is great for the readers. Just hope Mr. Thor does not rush the next publication and allows his ingenious writing skills to flourish without the rush for print. Time will tell.

Definitely, worth the purchase if you enjoy Mr. Thor's style.

3.0 out of 5 stars FOREIGN INFLUENCE Oct 6 2011
By BRONIA
Format:Paperback
FOREIGN INFLUENCE has a somewhat interesting plot. HOWEVER
main characters during the two major incidents not only get confusing,
but somewhat boring. HARVATH however does FIND, FIX and FINISH.
