Archaic English for Archaic Academics, Nov 29 2010
By Grannie-Annie "Calendar creature" - Published on Amazon.com
Every year I buy four copies of the Forgotten English calendar - one for my sister, two for friends, and one for myself. We are all retired academics with a life-long interest in languages, especially English.
Thank you very much for giving us a bright beginning for our days!

Love these calendars. The different and forgotten words sometimes give such a laugh at their strangeness as well as an insight into the way of life in times past. I also enjoy the daily facts or events as they too can be hysterically funny or very informative. A fun way to learn about words and history. Great for anyone who enjoys something different. Also begs the question - did we really speak like that!!!!

Stumbled across Kacirk's calendar earlier this year and am anxiously awaiting the 2012 edition. Both his word choices and his "on this day" reflections have frequently been the source of my Facebook posts, always with numerous comments and subsequent inquiries as to the source.
