5.0 out of 5 stars Great Adapter and Customer Service Feb 4 2013
By Luis A.
I ordered this adapter from Fotodiox Canada through Amazon.ca. Initially I placed an order for the non-pro version, cancelled it, and ordered this pro version. This was on a weekend, so I was relieved that the folks at Fotodiox processed the orders correctly. I had also chosen expedited shipping, but after 3 business days the adapter had not arrived, and I realized that they had used a slower shipping method. I contacted them, they admitted their error, and offered to re-send the adapter or refund the difference in shipping. I chose the refund, but the adapter arrived the next day--only one or two business days late. Overall, it was a good customer service experience, considering human errors do happen.

In terms of the adapter itself, I'm very satisfied with it. I have a Canon T3i and a Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 AI-s lens. The lens fits very tightly on the camera. I can feel no movement of the lens on the camera body at all. I was also able to remove the adapter from the lens without much trouble, though I don't plan to remove it often.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good adapter, fits tightly Feb 26 2010

I bought the Fotodiox Pro Nikon F to Canon EOS lens adapter to experiment with using old Nikkor manual focus lenses on my Canon cameras. Fotodiox offers three models of Nikon F to EOS adapter; this is the mid-price one. I bought it because the cheapest one gets mixed reviews, with some people complaining that it doesn't hold lenses tightly enough. Only the most expensive, on the other hand, includes a chip that allows your Canon camera to confirm focus by lighting up the AF points in the viewfinder. I chose this one because I wanted my lenses held firmly and I figured I could live without focus confirmation. (Also, the focus confirmation model costs twice as much, and I couldn't find it on Amazon anyway. You can order it directly from Fotodiox if you like.)

This adapter does its job pretty well. It does indeed hold lenses firmly. My one fairly minor annoyance with the adapter is that it is kind of a pain to remove from a lens, and in fact you have to figure out how to remove it because there are no instructions provided. (There is a small black lever on the camera side of the adapter that you have to hold down to release the lens. It isn't easy to press the lever down and twist the lens at the same time, but with a little practice you get used to it.)

Another thing that is worth knowing is that not all Nikon F lenses will actually mount and be usable on your Canon camera even with an adapter. This is not the adapter's fault. Some lenses have parts that stick out the back end and may (on some camera models) interfere with the motion of the reflex mirror, or even prevent the lens from being attached by bumping into some part of the camera's insides. It's best to do some research online first to find out whether a lens you're interested in will work with your camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nikon glass on your Canon? No problem May 17 2010

I was skeptical that I could use my Nikon lenses on my new Canon T2i, which I purchased for video work. I was even more skeptical after purchasing some of the $10 adapters from Hong Kong, which did not fit tightly and made it difficult to focus cleanly. But I gave it one last shot by purchasing the Fotodiox Pro adapter - and it paid off big time. The adapters work great, and are tight fitting. There's no loss of light whatsoever, and you can focus fully throughout the entire range. It's well worth the extra money to purchase these and put your Nikon glass to work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Adapter Dec 8 2009

The Fotodiox Pro adapter for Nikon Lens to canon EOS is great. All my Nikon Lenses fit perfectly onto my Canon 5D Mark II. I had to shoot everything manual since the lens can't "talk" to the body with the adapter but I prefer shooting manual so no complaints. For the price and the fact you can use all your Nikon's on the Canon, it's a no brainer.
