3.0 out of 5 stars Definitely not a standalone book, Jan 7 2004
By Lynn Bodoni "lynnbodoni" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Fountains Of Mirlacca (Paperback)
This book is well-written, and the story carries the reader along. However, the book should not be bought or sold alone, it's part of a trilogy. I've only read the first book, and I was left feeling quite unsatisfied at the conclusion. While I am glad that there are later volumes in this trilogy, I do wish that the author had written a more satisfying ending to the first book. If the book had had a good conclusion, I would have rated it at four or five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely light-hearted fantasy, Oct 16 1997

This review is from: Fountains Of Mirlacca (Paperback)
This is a wonderful start to a trilogy that turns out to be something very different. Jazen is your everyday John Doe, he works the forge, has no prospects for the future, and thinks he's going insane because of the imps he see's in the fire. But when a small group of travelling exorcists come alone, he decides to follow them, and it changes his life. He is taken to the capital city of Mirlacca, where he learns how to do basic fire magic, and ends up saving the city from a demon. The Fountains of Mirlacca gives you a steady background from which you can experiance the next two WONDERFUL books in this series.
