I have been researching Jeeps & 4 wheeling for years and could not find any usefull info on how to improve your off road skills. This book goes into great detail keeping it simple & well explained so that even the newest of newbies can comprehend how to tackle the trails safely and confidently.This will give you the knowledge gained from over 30 years experience 4 wheeling & a few years as a training instructor for land rover... Text book quality heavy pages with high quality pictures, well laid out & organized. You will not be disapointed this is not a story book & I wish I had found this years ago it would have saved me countless hours on the internet reading peoples giberish & leaving 4x4 garage`s more confused than whe I went in. This book cover`s it all just check the contents page of 9 chapters. You won`t find a better book!!

For both newcomers and experienced drivers, its readability and usability is second to none! Every 4x4 Club should have at least one in their reference library. Much of its content should form part of a trail leader's training curriculum.

Jim Allen's casual style will keep the seasoned off-roader's turning pages without overwhelming or intimidating the new comers. The 4-Wheeler's Bible doesn't simply proclaim a technique "right" but explains the reasoning behind it. The vehicle and trail shots are not the typical 4x4 book's fluff, but are excellent tools in demonstrating both good and bad driving techniques. Jim Allen spends as much time documenting and illustrating the common mistakes as he does the proper techniques, in doing so he allows the reader to not only learn from his experience but from other peoples mistakes (I know I'd much rather learn from someone else's crunched bumper or seared drive shaft than my own). You will not only read the 4-Wheeler's Bible cover to cover, but you'll find yourself referring back to it over and over again.
