As one reviewer suggested earlier, this album lacks chemistry between the DJ and emcee. As a result the beats are pretty staid, albeit not bad, while Gift of Gab does his thing. The only time where the beat archetecture is really apparent is on "hold on" which is SO dope but only lasts 46 seconds.

Five stars for Gab three stars for the DJs, which averages out to four stars. Key tracks are 1,10, and 14.

I love artists like the Dialated Peoples and slum village but wanted a little change. So I borrowed this CD off a mate, played it and was amazed at how many 'fly' tracks were on this album - couldn't stop barbing my head.

Such a good album, that I copped it (feels stange for someone who downloads all albums).

Its good to know there is still good music (esp.Hip Hop) out there, if you dig deep enough.

As for my fav track, it has to be 'ride of your life' - track could have been longer though.

Also like 'to know you', 'the writz' and 'jus because'-this track is straight spitting hot

'Hold on' and 'up' should have been made into a full length tracks though.

on his first solo effort, rapper gift of gab, delivers a relaxed and very articulate album. The album, entitled 4th dimensional rocketship going up, drives off a strong production team including vitamin d and jake 1. Their talent mixed with incredible vocals by gift leads to an amazingly deep and listenable cd. if you like anything by pharcyde, gangstarr, mos def, or dead prez, you will definatly like this cd. its relaxed beats go well with the fast paced delivery and i would highly recomend this cd to anyone that likes real hip hop. this cd is hip hop like it was supposed to be.
