Dietz has become one of my favorite authors. Freehold is an early Dietz writing career installment. Freehold delivers a very good story, fast action, and compelling characters. The current Dietz reader can see the author's early skill in the genre of military SciFi ... plenty of surprises and changeups. As a standalone, it's a fun read. The author has come a long way.
The book is comparatively way overpriced. That's my only criticism. 5-star read ... 3-star pricing ... 4-stars overall.

This story really held my attention throughout. For the most part I've been a fan of Dietz and this did not disappoint. I've never liked reviews that re-hash the story line, so I won't do it. Just suffice to say it was a great read. If you're at all a fan of Dietz don't miss this one.
