An exciting new feast of vegetarian recipes from the Juice for Life authors
Drawing inspiration from the global kitchen, founder Ruth Tal Brown has turned her funky Toronto-based restaurant chain Fresh by Juice for Life into a chow-down destination for health- conscious celebrities including Sting, Alanis Morrisette, Reese Witherspoon, Lenny Kravitz and numerous other notables. In Fresh at Home, Tal Brown, along with chef Jennifer Houston-both of whom consistently challenge the lingering stereotype that vegetarian (and vegan) food is tasteless-dish up innovative vegetarian fare in the form of rice bowls and noodles, sandwiches and wraps, soups and salads, dressings and sauces, stews and marinades as well as desserts, energy elixirs and pro athletic shakes. Like its bestselling predecessor, Juice for Life/Modern Food Luscious Juice, this deliciously healthy book will appeal to people of all tastes, whether vegetarian, vegan, or not.

Great ideas,
By Eager Cook "Caitlin" (BC, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fresh at Home Cookbook: Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone (Paperback)
I just purchased this book and have been picking it up repeatedly picking out some of my favorite dishes to try. However, I have not as yet got around to actually cooking any of the dishes. If you carefully review each recipe, it turns out to be quite daunting. Most recipes list the ingredients for dish 1, but refer you to a dish 3 to get the recipe for dish 2 which you need for dish 1. !! Needless to say, I'm eager, but it's turning into a bit more work than I expected. Other than the layout, there are some amazing well thought out recipes in this book that if you have the time to sort through it all... I'm sure are worthwhile.

This review is from: Fresh at Home Cookbook: Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone (Paperback)
This cookbook documents recipes for some of the best dishes served up at the Fresh by Juice for Life restaurants in Toronto. These recipes turn salads and rice bowls from boring fare to company fare. It's fast and easy. Their recipes for accompanying sauces and dressings are keepers. This book is for anyone on a limited diet or seeking healthy but interesting food to live by. Great wheat-free, dairy free options here.

This review is from: Fresh at Home Cookbook: Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone (Paperback)
This cookbook is a welcome relief to our vegetarian fare, that was getting a bit repetitive. There have been many hits with friends and family so far, and it has only been in use less than a month! Different, easy and tasty and the ingredients are not hard to find....what more can a veg. ask?
