Review

"...especially interesting to students and useful to managers of freshwater resources...Well referenced."
-NORTHEASTERN NATURALIST (2004)

"There's a lot to like about this book. ...written in a style that makes for easy reading and comprehension."
-Leonard A. Smock for JOURNAL OF THE NORTH AMERICAN BENTHOLOGICAL SOCIETY (January 2003)

Jennifer Tank, University of Notre Dame, October 2001

"I will definitely be using this text in my courses. Freshwater Ecology by Walter Dodds is the text we have been waiting for. ...Overall, I found the figures, tables, and conceptual diagrams to be very clear, concise, and easy to interpret. I also appreciated that the end of each chapter included both a summary of major points as well as questions for thought. I find these to be excellent study tools to use before exams."

4.0 out of 5 stars Best water quality text I have found, Oct 8 2007
By A. H. Baldwin "Ecologist and engineer" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Freshwater Ecology: Concepts and Environmental Applications (Hardcover)
I have been teaching a water quality field and lab-based methods course for about 10 years, and tried a number of books. While there are many purely aquatic ecology books out there, few also deal well with the applied aspects of aquatic ecosystems that students in natural resources management or environmental science programs are interested in or will deal with when they get jobs in their field. To improve the book further, I would suggest extra material on methods that could be used in lab-based courses.

Purchase, shipping, and delivery were all done in three days. This was included with an email of the tracking number, which was nice since classes just started and I could plan on when it would arrive.
