This is a great series but season 2 did not live up to the quality of season 1. The writing in season 2 loses a subtlety and sensitivity that season 1 had. The whole story line of Landry and Tyra and the killing of her potential rapist is just not carried off in a realistic manner.

One of our disks had an episide that was damaged and most of it we could not watch. This is obviously not the fault of the series' producers but just a note that ordering over the internet can result in problems that are virtually unsolveable.

Although season 2 doesn't quite match the brilliance of season 1 (how could it?), FNL is still one of the very best series on tv. The DVD extras aren't too extensive, but the deleted scenes are golden. Can't wait for season 3!

Friday Night Lights is the best series on television. Football, teenagers coming of age, the underdog, and all that with incredible writing and acting. I can't get enough of this series. Rumour has it that we will see another 2 seasons of FNL (season 4 & 5, season 3 is airing right now). This is one of those series that everyone thought would be canceled (similar to Arrested Development) because it's just too good to be true. Good thing we were wrong!
