I wonder if Francis Gay still writes these wonderful(older editions) little books. I was fortunate enough to stumble upon his 1967 Friendship Book and thoroughly enjoyed it. So, with great anticipation , I ordered the 2009 edition It is quite disturbing that I found only a few Bible quotations in what I read of the book. While I might have missed some in my first reading, the almost total absence of Bible quotes is very sad. There are plenty of quotes attributed to several poets, Chinese proverbs, Arabian proverb, and Buddha. In a quick scan of the book this morning I found 5 direct biblical quotes. In a quick perusal of the 1967 Friendship Book I was able to find 51 direct biblical quotes. Shame on you, D.C.THOMPSON & CO, LTD.(publisher). I am not giving a single star rating because the spiritual message in the 2009 is bad. The spiritual content is good but I would give it 0 stars if I could because of the anti- Christian direction that this publisher has decided to follow. I have a Jeffersonian outlook on freedom of speech and press, but I am am shocked at the change in the content of these books. So I will continue to be an avid collector of older editions and avoid the newer ones.
