5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best book there is on this topic. June 24 1996
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
The title, "From Medication to Meditation," exactly
pinpoints the current movement towards combining the Western
science of the outer--conventional medical science--with the
Eastern science of the inner, meditation.

Rather than the usual "turf battles" that plague this
field, here we have a truly rounded view which supports the
intelligent use of the most appropriate modality for every
situation.

It includes fascinating insights into the current
emergence of new diseases, including AIDS, the limitations
of Western psychology and "therapy" in general; and chapters on euthansia, living and dying, the mind as a
disease-creating mechanism, over-eating, pain, massage, the
role of the healer...in fact every topical health issue is
covered.

And how to be healthy.

As a physician, I can only say that if everybody read --
and understood -- this book, the cost of sickness to us all,
in dollars and pain, would be dramatically reduced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stress Reduction Feb. 15 1998
Format:Paperback
Just think of the millions and millions of dollars the world is spending to create chemicals, medicine for relaxation. Seems to be one of the most important things for people in these days. This book shows no-chemical ways to reduce stress and bring people back to a natural state of relaxation, which we have almost forgotten about.

3.0 out of 5 stars very good but a little wordy March 8 2008
By W. Tomasik - Published on Amazon.com

In many, many cases meditation could replace drugging and - although I do not take any drugs - I expected a more practical, concise, approach. I like Osho, an his unconventional ways, but really less is more! Truths are being drowned in unnecessary words here and it takes some patience to pick them up.

4.0 out of 5 stars From medication to meditation Osho May 12 2012

It is a great book, but the chapter 20 "A look into the future" is not written by Osho and it is obvious. Again the story of Jesus repeating. After death of the author all sort of manipulations and interpretations on the scriptures are going bound to happen. Osho is talking of Awareness in his all speechs then on the chapter 20 we discover all at once the human desire has become the most important topic, that scientific birth is perfectly good. I wouldn't live in a world full of Eintein, Sheakespeer, Beethoven, Freud. Just read this book with eyes and heart Full Awareness.
