4.0 out of 5 stars Not great but readable July 21 2007

Novels of comic strips are always difficult. The authors are usually stuck having to deal with a lot of often contradictory back story while at the same time know that anything that they write will be ignored by the comics writers. Being stuck with that David Bishop has done a good job sprinkling the novels with bits and pieces from the original stories. Also a highlight of the stories was seeing how a couple of supporting characters from the comic behave on their own. The omnibus can get a bit repetitive at times with the same kind of plot devices being repeated e.g crest gets nullified at times so Dante is on his own but then how many times did the transporter break down in Star Trek. Over all the stories are an o.k read for the fans of the character and since I can't give 3.5 stars I will say 4.

Save your money

The writing here is juvenile. Paragraphs are incomplete. Chapters don't scan well. Has the author ever had a writing class?

But wait there is worse.

The author stole!!!!!!

He has plagarized a character!!!!!

If you want to read about a thief that is well written and well done, go to Harry Harrison and get the Stainless Steel Rat books.

But wait if you pick this piece of drek up, you'll see that there is a chracter called James di Grizov who is the best thief in the galaxy. But you should know that Harrison's thief was named Jim diGriz... A coincidence? Or this author too weak to be original...
