Product Description

Directed with consummate skill by Terence Young, the second James Bond spy thriller is considered by many fans to be the best of them all. Certainly Sean Connery was never better as the dashing Agent 007, whose latest mission takes him to Istanbul to retrieve a top-secret Russian decoding machine. His efforts are thwarted when he gets romantically distracted by a sexy Russian double agent (Daniela Bianchi), and is tracked by a lovely assassin (Lotte Lenya) with switchblade shoes, and by a crazed killer (Robert Shaw), who clashes with Bond during the film's dazzling climax aboard the Orient Express. From Russia with Love is classic James Bond, before the gadgets, pyrotechnics and Roger Moore steered the movies away from the more realistic tone of the books by Ian Fleming. --Jeff Shannon

5.0 out of 5 stars Bond in a whole new light Feb. 5 2011
I've seen this film many times on TV, VHS and DVD, but this blu-ray transfer is absolutely stunning. Cleaned up by the good folks at Lowry Digital Images, the picture clarity is perfect and shows details that I've never picked up before. This blu-ray makes an old film new again, I'm very impressed by the quality of all the Bond films on blu-ray.

5.0 out of 5 stars From Russia With L June 8 2013

This was still one of my favourite 007 movies and one of my favourite James Bond characters. After playing the 007 Gamecube game my grandsons are able to recognize the scenes that are in the movie and were excited watching it.

3.0 out of 5 stars 1st bluray disc March 22 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
This is the first bluray disc purchased for the bluray player.
The cases come with minimal content, not even the year the film first came out, making it difficult to watch them in sequence.
played ok.

I love all the Bond movies and this one is no exception. What is new is the quality of the picture and sound. This has been updated and wonderfully clear and crisp. If you're a James Bond fan, this is for you!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dated and tedious movie.... Jan. 22 2004
It took this movie so long to come to the point that by then I did not care anymore. Train fight between Shaw and Connery is underwelming and the so-called romance is butchered by a terrible script. Forget this piece of junk.

If you're a fan of Bond movies, you cannot miss this one on Blu-Ray! They did a fantastic job brining this one (just happens to be my favorite) over to blu-ray!

Must buy! :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Good show, but not the best of the series
I have recently started watching all of the James Bond movies again, and I hate to say it, but this is probably the one Sean Connery film that is not the best one. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great transfer onto Blu-Ray
Rather that go into any details or opinions on the content of this Bond movie (as it is likely well enough known already), I'll do a simple review on the quality of the Blu-Ray... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Inconsistencies, but still great
This second James Bond flick is great, but has some inconsistencies. For instance, why is the head of the KGB in the country they are in, leading a raid into a gypsy camp? Read more
