1.0 out of 5 stars Filled with outdated info March 21 2012
By Ian - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
It's early 2012. I figured a 2012 guide would be our best bet. Boy were we wrong. Of the four or so things we did and saw as a result of this book, three were way outdated. It described a garden in Freeport that the book said includes a petting zoo. That petting zoo hasn't been operational since about 2004. It says you need to buy your tickets at the Rand Nature Center for the Lucaya National Park. You don't. Glad we didn't follow that because it would have wasted about an hour. Also says nothing about the Grand Lucaya Resort being half-closed (some outer, older sections) and as a result apparently one of the island's best restaurants is also closed. Prices on certain activities were more than 20 percent off (indicating a long time since update).

You get the picture. Lonely Planet has never let me down. Now I remember why we usually rely on it.

Was traveling to the Bahamas and needed to "read up" on what to expect. Always a great guide for everything.
It clearly profiles, hotels, restaurants, places of interest, maps, travel options and so much more.

The Frommer's book is a very good source of info on the Bahamas. We're planning to travel to Eleuthera and needed more info. This book is a good addition to our research!
