Near useless for Playa del Carmen

I was excited to buy this Nov 2012 edition hoping for current and useful advice regarding my vacation in Playa Del Carmen, an hour's drive from Cancun. The guide's information on PDC was so sparse that I could have found just as much with a half hour of web searching. Complete waste of money.
If you're heading to PDC and looking for a better choice for information, go to Lonely Planet and download the chapter on Quintana Roo (from their Cancun publication) for five bucks.

I got this book because I am heading out to Cozumel. I've been there before but I wanted some new ideas about places to go and sights to see. The book gives information about how to get there, the beaches, accommodations a la carte and all-inclusive, ways to get around, and fun things to do once you're there. It offers good information on restaurant, national parks, shopping and nightlife.
The book provides information about Cancun and the Yucatan, with all the kinds of information that I listed above about Cozumel.
There are some tips on Spanish phrases and words, good ways to plan your trip, health information, and even airline websites.
I highly recommend this book for anyone traveling to Cancun, the Yucatan or Cozumel.

My husband and I are planning a cruise to celebrate our anniversary. Cancun is one of our dream destinations. This books has such wonderful descriptions, honest reviews, things you must do, restaurants to try-it is a must have for planning a trip. It even breaks down prices and how to tip. It covers all the details. We are so excited and happy we have this book to 'talk' us through it all.
