4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the price Mar 17 2011

We're not the type to plan out our entire vacation ahead of time. We booked two nights in a hotel and headed to Chicago with this book supplemented by a good map.

This book found great spots to dine and gave us tips on things to do that didn't break the bank. Whenever we were hungry, we'd simply look at the book to see what was good, affordable and nearby. The book made our trip much more enjoyable and found us some hidden gems that we would not have found on our own (even with a smartphone).

It's the first edition but I did not notice many errors or issues.
4.0 out of 5 stars A lot of information in a small book Jan 16 2013

This was our guidebook when we went to Chicago last year. Originally took this out of the library and ended up buying a copy to take with us. A lot of great ideas and helpful information about public transportation and neighborhoods. My only complaint is that it's a little old. That didn't seem to hinder us, but it would be nice to have an updated version.
