5.0 out of 5 stars Handy pocket guide Dec 6 2010
By Hels - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is really useful for a Cuban overview, with lots of themes and ideas for travel. The accommodation listings are particularly useful and well informed, and the separate map of Havana is a very handy feature, meaning you can navigate easily without pulling out a guidebook. A great buy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best pocket-size guide you can get Aug 12 2011
By Aga Artka - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I have traveled to Cuba with some friends this summer, and brought this little pocket size guide with me. We had two full days in Havana and wanted to maximize our experience. The first morning, we took a 3h guided tour, which we booked in the lobby of our hotel. In a group of 7, we were chauffeured around the neighborhoods of Havana, spent some time walking around, visited a few famous spots, shopped at a few recommended stores, and were driven to a delicious restaurant for lunch. This experience let us get acquainted with the city and get a better idea of what is located where. From then on, we walked the city with a foldout map, which the guide comes with, and we followed the book's weekend sightseeing schedule. Many different tips and suggestions are included in the book, quick historical facts, insights on architecture and design, cultural and political information. Dining and restaurant suggestions were also very useful. I would recommend this book, and the series for anyone traveling independently, without a group. It is a great guide.
