I carried this around when traveling alone in France, and it proved invaluable. I spoke literally no French when I left, but 2-3 hours of studying with this on the ferry enabled me to get around in France without any major snafus. The organization by topic was excellent. Many phrases are listed with options to suit your needs. For example, "I am ____. - Je suis ____. American - Americain/americaine. Canadian - canadien/canadienne. Chinese - chinois/chinoise", and so on. Pronunciations are included with each phrase, so you don't have to keep flipping back to the pronunciation guide.
