I spent 10 days in Maui and wish I would have left both Frommer's and Fodor's on the mainland. This guide help me only in scant ways. It targets the more affluent traveler and has the best recommendations for accommodations and restaurants for those that are willing to drop $200+++ for a room and $40+ per person for a meal. That said, Frommer's restaurant reviews and recommendations are superior to Fodor's guide. But, like I mentioned in my Fodor's review, skip the all-in-one Hawaii guides and go for those travel guides that are written by locals for the island(s) you want to visit, ie, Friedman's "Maui Revealed: The Ultimate Guidebook" (excellent). But, if you want just one guide consider Frommer's "Hawaii Day by Day". This Frommer's Hawaii = conditionally recommended.
