3.0 out of 5 stars jrcgriffin,ga Feb 10 2012

Best described as a very broad overview. The Temple Mount and the Western Wall each essentially get one paragraph (the same as the YMCA building in the German Colony). Also the rating system seems off balance - the Italian Hospital is rated three stars while the Temple Mount gets only two ( yikes !). Out of a 177 page book the Old City gets about 20 pages with the rest devoted to shopping, nightlife, lodging, special interest tours, day trips, etc.

Likewise maps are too general to be of much use in getting around (interestingly the separate "foldout map" touted on the books cover is merely a reprint of the same map already printed inside the cover).

Obviously leaves much to be desired.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only guidebook I took to Israel Mar 4 2012

After checking out several books and videos, I purchased this book because it is the perfect size to carry and has everything I needed for a week visit to Jerusalem. The removable map is a big plus, and the ranking of attractions based on how many days you have to see the city was also helpful in choosing what to do and see. The perfect companion for a visit to Jerusalem.
