We went to Las Vegas for 3 nights days this year, and this was the perfect guidebook to take. We didn't want to lug a big book around -- this one fit in a small bag and held lots of (color-coded) useful information. I also liked that one of us could pocket/refer to the map while the other one flipped through the book.
The book covers a wide range of prices, and tries to cover a wide range of audience: from elopers to bachelor parties and bachelorette parties. It doesn't devote a lot of space to each, but it gives you enough to have a couple of ideas in case you get stuck. There are other options for all of the categories in the book (it doesn't list ALL the buffets, bars, etc) but I don't think you'll go wrong if you follow the places it does recommend. The whole point with Vegas is flexibility, so if you stick this book in a pocket and go off on your adventures, you'll never be at a loss for your next course of action.
Overall, this series of guidebooks is great. Just make sure to check the date of publication of the book and supplement it with internet research if the book is more than a year out of date, so you don't end up w/ a restaurant closure or a new casino you didn't know about.
