About the Author

Journalist, photographer, and freelance writer Mark Baker has had a deep interest in Central Europe since receiving a degree in International Affairs at Columbia University in the 1980s. He currently lives in Prague, Czech Republic, but is a frequent visitor to, and a big fan of, Poland. In addition to writing guide books, he is a contributor to The Wall Street Journal Europe and National Geographic Traveler, among other publications.

Kit F. Chung is a Malaysian-born freelance writer who has been based in Warsaw since 2001. Poland is her first encounter with a former “Iron Curtain” country. Decoding her adopted home has been made fun and easy by Poles who tolerate her incessant inquisitive questions on anything and everything Polish. Kit contributes regularly to local and international publications on all things Polish, covering food and travel (naturally) as well as people, culture, art and designs.

Terrific "fact-oriented" book. Really good at telling the reader what-things cost (hotel/meals etc) and all the must-see places not only in Warsaw but the entire country.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frommer's Poland complete guide Nov 25 2012
By travelagent - Published on Amazon.com

I was disappointed with this book. It had too much on hotels and restaurants in Poland. As a Travel Consultant for over 25 years, I find my clients usually tour with tour companies which have prearranged hotels and restaurants. I am going next summer with a group and I was interested in finding things to see in our free time. There was not much of that in this book. Amazon purchase.

Frommer's guide to Poland is, as are most of their titles, an excellent introduction to a complex culture, a very starting place for a traveler.
