Not up to the job.,

As a regular user of Frommer's guides, I took this latest version along on a recent trip to the Virgin Islands, and was surprised and disappointed by how poorly it covered most of the islands. While doing an adequate job on St. Thomas and St. John, it failed miserably on most of the other islands. The most glaring example was St. Croix. In spite of the limited number of facilities on the island, the guide seemed to miss more than it covered. For example, it failed to even mention notable places to stay such as the iconic Carambola Resort and Hotel on the Cay, and ignored the bustling string of funky eateries along Cane Bay -- places well known to locals that we had to discover ourselves. This guide is not up to Frommer's usual standards and definitely shouldn't be relied on by first time, or even repeat, visitors to the Virgin Islands as a sole resource.

this is a great portable version of those huge travel books. it has all the essentials plus a lot more. perfect for your carry on or backpack to have readily available for refference

Spent two-weeks down in the Virgin Islands and this guide still has lots of information to offer - like a good boat captain, they know the best spots for food, sun, sand, and rum! Highly recommend.
