5.0 out of 5 stars Frommers 2013 - worth it! Oct. 14 2012
By GoldeLpack - Published on Amazon.com
Washington, DC is my second favorite vacation spot (a certain place in Orlando is my first) and I've been visiting there regularly for years. I'm always looking for new ideas and places to explore along with the regular places. It's been a very long 4 years since I've been there so I figured there's a lot of information I can catch up on. This Frommer's book does it well. It is presented very well with lots of detail and reference. It's very easy to read either straight through or just look for specific information. It is well illustrated and very informative for those who want to know. Lots of maps and reference material. Definitely a must for those thinking about going, going or just wanting a good travel read.

My only problem is the text is rather small - but that's also because there is just so much information!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Frommer"s Washington, D C 2013 Oct. 24 2012

We love this book. It has so great information. The information on each district with hotels, cafes, places of interest and estimated cost for each place. The pictures and maps along with information on how to get around the D. C. area are incredible.
We are planning a trip to DC in April. We will be ready to enjoy our trip to the fullest. We have already sent away for passes so that we can do a WHite House tour and visit th House ans Senate. Smithsonian is huge so we are planning to spend 3 days there. We will visit the Natioal Monument, Viet Nam Wall, Arlinto Cemetary,Jefferson Memorial, Marine Museum, National Cathedral and Annopolis. We are hoping the the cherry blossoms will be out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frommer's DC 2013 - The only guide you'll need July 7 2013
By CincinnatiMom - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This was one of three guide books I bought for our recent trip to DC. It is the only one that made the trip with us. The MAP - I cannot say enough wonderful things about the map in the back of this book - almost worth the price of the book alone (small enough to tuck in a pocket or small purse and durable with a Metro map on the outside flap). We based our sighseeing on the tour for folks who don't have a lot of time (I can't look up the name of it or page number because I already loaned the book to someone!). Between Frommer's and Trip Advisor, I didn't need anything else!

4.0 out of 5 stars Frommers is always a reliable source March 8 2013
By Brian - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
When I went to D.C. for the first time, I used this book more than any of the others. The pull-out map is a bit lacking, as I've noticed with other Frommer guidebooks I've purchased. Simply buy a more detailed map elsewhere, or visitor centers always have good free ones.
