From the Publisher

Pentecostal missionary leaves spiritual legacy to the nations Pentecostal missionary Donald Stamps went to be with his Lord one month after completing the study notes to the Full Life Study Bible. But the Spirit's work through him lives on in the Bible with features that have been translated into fifteen languages. The story of this internationally successful Bible begins in Brazil, where Stamps saw that needy pastors needed biblical training, but they could not afford it. It was then, says is wife Linda, that the Holy Spirit began to lay the need of a Pentecostal study Bible for Brazil on Don's heart. Stamps worked on the study notes in 1982 at his home in Brazil. Despite lack of space and leaky ceilings, he worked on it there until 1988, when he came to America to spend full-time on the project. Even stomach cancer didn't stop Stamps. Having finished the New Testament notes and half the Old Testament notes by the time he was diagnosed, he finished his work amid chemotherapy, surgery, and weakness. The Full Life Study Bible includes a complete cross-reference system, maps and charts near relevant texts, book introductions, a detailed subject index, a concordance and 16 full-color maps.

It also has features specially designed for Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians: ?

Themefinders: 12 symbols located in the margin indicating verses that address specific themes such as Baptized in/Filled with the Holy Spirit, Gifts of the Spirit, and Healing. ?

Study Notes: Written in the Pentecostal tradition by Stamps, who was a prominent Assemblies of God missionary. ?

Articles: 77 articles that address a wide variety of topics of doctrinal and practical importance. ?

Charts: 5 charts uniquely designed for this Bible such as Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled in Christ, and The Kingdom of God Versus the Kingdom of Satan .

The Full Life Study Bible was reviewed by pastors and scholars committed to creating a standard by which Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians of many nations could study, preach, and teach.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear text....Clear power!!, Jan 12 2004

This review is from: Full Life Study Bible: New International Version (An International Study Bible for Pentacostal and Charismatic Christians) (Hardcover)
The NIV Full Life Study Bible is an excellent choice for christians. Although I do not agree with all of the notes most of them are excellent and practical. This Bible is uncompromising in its adherence to historic christianity. The text and notes are clear and bold unlike its successor (Life In The Spirit Study Bible). Go for the original it's easier on the eyes! This Bible contains thorough book introductions; annotations; indexes; maps and a concordance. It has a pentecostal emphasis but that won't hurt non-pentecostals (like myself) a bit. Buy it for Full Life!!

By A Customer
This review is from: Full Life Study Bible: New International Version (An International Study Bible for Pentacostal and Charismatic Christians) (Hardcover)
I have been reading Bibles for nearly 50 years and I think this one is one of the best around. I love it, my 21 one year old son loves it and my husband wants one for father's day, This Bible is not stodgy!. I love the discussion on wine.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Pentecostal/Charismatic Study Bible, July 17 2002
By
S Donahue (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Full Life Study Bible: New International Version (An International Study Bible for Pentacostal and Charismatic Christians) (Hardcover)
The NIV Full-Life Study Bible is based on the NIV,which, for better or worse, seems very popular today. It is a balanced translation, in between a formal equivalence(word-for-word)and dynamic equivalence(basically thought-for-thought). Words have been added to, or deleted from, the Greek text of the New Testament. Ergo, one is reading the words of men mixed in with the Words of God. The annotations in this Bible are from a traditional Pentecostal perspective; with 4 total pages taken up with the subject of wine, expressing a temperance viewpoint rather than the actual 1st century meaning of wine. This is a good Study Bible, with nice, dark print. However, keep in mind that the editor was a member of the Assemblies of God, and the annotations reflect their belief system.
