I bought the pods but not the lifter, that was a mistake. Tried just using a slotted spoon, not the right angle. Tried just lifting the pods out with my fingers, egg slid right out of pods. I then ordered the lifter, works like magic, should have bought it to start with. I have now bought the pods and lifter for my father in-law.

Idéal pour poser les nids de silicone sur la surface ou les retirer de l'eau bouillante.
L'extrémité de la poignée épouse parfaitement la forme des nacelles pour «décoller» les oeufs de la paroi (non rigide) sans jamais les crever.
4.00$ c'est un peu fort, mais bon... je peux enfin compter sur mes dix doigts jusqu'à neuf! ;-)

I love this uni-tasker, but I do not understand why on Amazon it is so expensive. On the Fusion Brands website it sells for $4 plus $6 shipping...which is still cheaper than either of the alternatives on Amazon. If you use the Poaching Pods, this makes moving them so much easier. As far as where to buy it goes...check this out:

My daughter really likes the Poachpod, her family eats poach eggs every morning, and this little gadgets simplify the process.
I might get one for me if they make it in blue, even though I'm an old fashion cook, I know the new gadgets makes life easier in the kitchen.

This egg lifter does the job for which it was designed, and I have no complaints. It is lightweight and cleans up easily, and allows the egg pods to be removed from boiling water safely and with ease. I do recommend this egg poacher lifter.
