This review is from: G.I. Joe Vs. The Transformers Omnibus: Volumes 1 - 4 (Hardcover)
This is a collection of the 4 volumes of Devil's Due Publishing's GI Joe vs. Transformers series. Taking some continuity (read: one character) from their GI Joe series, but otherwise this book in entirely in its own universe, therefore nothing that happens affects the canon of either set of characters.

And let me tell you, with the characters they kill off, that's good. Very popular and famous characters (specifically Autobots) hit that Giant Junkheap In The Sky.

COBRA finds the ARK that contained the Decepticons and Autobots that has been buried on Earth for the last 5 million years. Luckily, a few Autobots were not discovered, and they and the Joes must save the day!

We also have time travelling adventures, the creation of a new Serpentor, and finally, the secret alliance between Cobra-La and Unicron!

It helps a lot if you know the mythos of both Joes and 'Formers. The writing is very good. The art is that new fangled manga/cartoonish look I don't know how they do, but it looks spectacular.

If you can find this, pick it up, it really is an excellent read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Transformers/GI JOE book, Feb 19 2011

This review is from: G.I. Joe Vs. The Transformers Omnibus: Volumes 1 - 4 (Hardcover)
This book is simply amazing, wow. This is truly the Ultimate Transformers VS GI JOE Edition. Again, the Book is simply amazing. I especially like the beauty of the art. Not only is it well drawn, but the colors they choose are enhancing the experience in every way. Way to go!!! This is a great book you must have in you Collection for Transformers or GI JOE. The story is solid and is exactly what you would expect from a Transformers story line. Even better when it involves GI JOE. This book contains the 4 volumes of this series in one package. In conclusion, if you are a Transformers fan, you must check out this book. I would say it is a must buy for a Transformers fan. Really well done crossover between GI JOE and Transformers.

Nice book containing the bext GI Joes stories I've read as well as the best Transformers stories. Happily, they are together!
Volumns 1 and 3 were by far the best of the series and 4 was not too bad. My only dissappointment was Volumn 2, as it had too many small, not well fleshed out time travel stories, while the more interesting story was the bit taking place on Cybertron. I would have rather seen a more in dept team up on Cybertron (which you do get in Volumn3) than the overly quick time travel trips.
