5.0 out of 5 stars Pro scholarum bonus est Dec 27 2000
Although this book is written for a most elite group of musical/liturgical historians of the Catholic church, it is the finest source for the scholarly study of Gregorian Chant in the world, published by the people who are responsible for its rediscovery and revival in the late 19th century. An indispensible guide to the finest musical tradition in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Dec 24 2010

This is a great reference that any musician who is interested in plainchant should have. It is much more informative in many ways than the Liber usualis because of the parallel sources. One thing I wished that it would have included is a complete alphabetical index (that is not separated according to genre or purpose). This book assumes a basic knowledge of the church calendar and church music (which anyone looking for this would probably have).
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful and Beautiful Aug 10 2012
By Ben - Published on Amazon.com
This book, being the ideal music book of the Roman Rite, is one that should be in every church's loft. Not only is the music beautiful, but the notes themselves on the page are also very beautiful and crisp.
