Product Description
The Portable Friction Mount from Garmin is a portable non-skid friction mount. Rather than attaching to windshield this accessory is very tacky at its base so as to not slide on the dash. It has a foil inside to allow it to be molded to fit various dash contours. This product also includes a plastic arm to snap any of the nuvi onto this mount which can then hold or carry the nuvi on flat surface. Friction mount with non-skid material designed to keep nuvi and StreetPilot GPS units in place without hardware or adhesives.

Excellent product for those who don't want to stick suction cups to their window. Those things fall off in high heat, anyway.
My dash is probably not the best for this product since it is slanted and slippery. Yet the mount stays on! Please note that it does shift a little over long periods of time, but it has never fallen off.
The best thing about it is you can now easily reach the screen keys to type in your destination.

This appears to do what it claims. It stays in place on the dash, does not leave telltale signs like the window mount and is easily removed and hidden from view.

Work as described
It works and it increases mobility of the device location. You can put it virtually everywhere on your dashboard. I put it on a curvy surface and there is no problem.

this unit works very well. I really prefer it to the stick on mount. It doesn't slide on the dash at all and is easily transferred from one vehicle to another.
