I use this just to monitor my cadence, not for measuring speed. Sometimes it misses a step (drops the signal) so the average cadence appears lower than it actually is. This problem is widely reported. That is not really a big problem for me, because I am more interested in real-time reporting and looking at the data graph, but considering how well other Garmin products work, it's a drag having a buggy product, especially considering the price. Amazon lists this as "for indoor use only." That's just a mistake on Amazon's part. One of the uses of the pod is tracking your speed when you are indoors and cannot get a GPS signal. But the unit is waterproof to a depth of 10 ft, so it can certainly handle a little rain (I've had no ill effects).

the foot pod works perfectly, just like it says on its description. For those who like or need to know the exact data for their runs,it's a must have type of product.

This is a great product for anyone that runs on a treadmill and syncs with Garmin products. My only complaint is the very high price for such a small piece of needed technology that no one else manufactures so you are stuck purchasing it from Garmin.

The footpod worked very well out of the box. I didn't do a calibration for it using GPS (I use it with forerunner 410). I used it on a tread mill and it was right on with the tread mill counter. I used it in an indoor track, and I'm thinking it's not super accurate, but good enough. Still gives me speed, and distance that are close enough.

The precision of this device is really impressive. I use it with Forerunner 310XT. After a calibration it gives the distance with less than 1% error.

Using my Garmin Foot Pod inside makes running laps on a 200m track sooo much less boring.
Has been recognized by my Garmin Forerunner 210 quickly and easily, was accurate out of the box, easily switched between shoes, held on snuggly. The readout form the Garmin connect site shows cadence which is a nice feature also. Very happy with this purchase.

It worked right out of the package, sync with my Garmin 410 Forunner in no time. I use it mostly for the threadmill cause it's getting pretty cold out there.

I wanted to use the footpod with the FR70 which isn't GPS enabled. However it won't pick up steps when running uphill, or if I slowed down running over a rocky trail it went into Pause. I contacted Garmin support, who said it was designed for tracks and indoor - not for trails. I have a friend who uses hers for trail running and she says it's fine, so maybe I had a faulty watch or footpad.
