This is not my first GPS unit, but I will say it's the best one yet. The lane assist feature - awesome - no excuse for being in the wrong lane. The split screen feature I'd have to say is one of the most brilliant ideas to help in navigating - especially in the cities
you are not familiar with. I highly recommend this product

I have always wanted a GPS, and finally I chose this unit. I charged my unit up when I got it and looked at the features and such. It was a bit before I used it, but when I did, I was very happy with it. The voice was ok, but hard to hear over my radio (not its fault at all, that was me.) The screen was a good size and it was neat to see a split screen come up and I felt it gave adequate advance directions to upcoming turns. The unit did say it was low in power on my trip back (about an hour each way) but I knew I hadn't charged it again before my trip and I had read that having the screen and voice at full power would deplete the unit faster, but the screen was good when I turned it on and I didn't dim it. I just tapped the OK button and continued and it was still going when I reached home. I really like my Garmin and am very happy with it.

I have the following complaints about this GPS:

- Typing on the screen is awful: precision is simply not there and there is a noticeable lag between touching and on-screen display.
- Streets auto-complete function is horrible and barely works. In most cases I end up having to type the whole street name, which makes it VERY error prone (partly because of the fact that typing is awful). My 5 years old magellan GPS would auto-complete much better!
- It couldnt find a simple address in Ottawa's downtown recently. Both google maps in my phone and my old magellan GPS (that I happened to have in the car at that time) found it with no problem.

Purchased this to prevent us from have to remembering to haul unit into whichever vehicle we may use that day. This and its companion reside permanently in respective vehicles now.

Nice large screen, the lane guidence feature is nice to have and seems to have the visible magnification feature better implemented than on our other Garmin units. Personally have used Garmin for aircraft, watercraft and road vehicles and would not purchase any other units from other manufacturers. Having seen competitor product this is a brand that you will become loyal to after use.

Amazing price over retail purchase locally but remember that the big box stores do mark these down, you may be able to locate similar model. This one comes with lifetime maps which is big saving long term and I only really update every year or so anyway but nice to have that included up front.

As mentioned, Amazon provided a great price for unit and actually bettered local similar units which were also on markdown sale locally. Very happy with product.

This GPS was purchased as a Christmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law. They both thought it was as described. Particularly liked the lane assist, and that the arrival time and speed were shown on the same screen.

We upgraded from a 250 Nuvi 3.5. Wow, what a difference! The adaptive display is excellent. Easy to use. The details are much, much better. Just a fantastic GPS.

I had a previous model of the Garmin which turned out to be useless after trying unsuccessfully to update the maps. This time, after purchasing this item threw Amazon I not only registered the GPS, I updated the maps to be sure that it could be done. I would have returned the item immediately if I had similar issues as the previous one. I have only used this once so far for a week-end trip for a hockey tournament. This time the arena's, the hotel, restaurants, etc, were easy to find. I was glad that this unit was so much better than the first one I purchased.
