Gary Moore at Montreux,

This review is from: Gary Moore: Definitive Montreux Collection (DVD)
A great retrospective of a sadly missed guitarist. Sheer virtuosity that is much appreciated, especially if you love the blues. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome Blues From Ireland (Oops, Switzerland),
By Except For Music "Mikie Hates Everything" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Gary Moore: Definitive Montreux Collection (DVD)
Let me start by saying that I have absolutely NO idea why Gary Moore has not "caught on" in the US as he is a True (& One Of The Few) Blues Guitar Master. He is immensely popular in Europe & SHOULD be here as well (for those of you that don't know, he used to be in Thin Lizzy). I can't believe this collection hasn't been reviewed by now either. At any rate, the performances, editing & sound (both DTS & Dolby Digital) are all top notch (considering the 1st show is now 20 years old). I had very high expectations for this set & they were way, way surpassed! You get the 2 DVD's with parts of all Gary's MJF shows from 1990-2001. Plus you get a "bonus" CD as well (which is over an hour long). I'm not even gonna go into individual song reviews, they all are great! Don't think about it or procrastinate, just get it - you'll be Very Happy that you did! It's Pure Unabridged Fender / Gibson Heaven!!! Wake Up North America!!!

A Wonder-Full Tribute to One of the Best Ever !!!,
By Gypsy Guitars - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Gary Moore: Definitive Montreux Collection (DVD)
Today, Gary Moore has moved on to Guitar Heaven where his soul belongs after an inspiring career of performing some of the finest rock 'n' blues guitar EVER...
this collection is a wonder-full tribute to his immense 'n' intense gifts of guitaristic expression in his Montreux shows from 1990-2001 on 2 DVDs w/ a compilation CD... it helps me mourn his passing to watch these performances & enjoy his incredible SOUL as he burns [mostly thru 'da Blues] in these shows... if you want more Moore for your collection- this is a great place to start ! 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful:

God bless Gary Moore R.I.P!,

ANYTHING Gary More is Classic! Just wanted to say I've enjoyed listening to Gary Moore from the Thin Lizzy days, through his solo days, great live performer, great guy! Mostly under the manstream radar, but the mainstream often ends up stale anyway, so it's been nice to have him consistently put out great stuff and never stale...I often pull out Thin Lizzy or his solo stuff and never tire of it...always fresh-Total brilliance! I was fortunate to have seen him live and still like plugging in my strat and playing the intro to 'End of the World'...lost many of sleep staying up, learning his solos and Van Halen, etc. It's another shock to the music world to lose one of the most beloved rock & blues guitarist! Found dead at 58 on Feb. 6 at a hotel in Spain while on vacation. Thanks for the inspiration brotha- R.I.P.
