5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent work Aug 24 2008
By Theology lover - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I was delighted to read by James McKeown's commentary on Genesis. I think his theological approach is original and important since it offers a much more interesting alternative than the old stale JPED approach, which in my opinion is too pedantic to ever be spiritually uplifting.

It would be nice if more biblical scholars made the effort to stress the theological dimensions of the text in their commentaries.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great commentary that succeeds in its goal. Oct 4 2012
By Gustav von Hohenhein - Published on Amazon.com

This is an excellent commentary that focuses on practical implications of the text. While not heavy on examining linguistic structure and providing a comprehensive analysis on every phrase, this commentary still manages to communicate difficult aspects of the text while remaining focused on literary and theological issues as well. This commentary reads very easily and is exceptionally well-written.
