5 stars for the performance of the band !!!
4 stars for sound mix (not as good as usual)
3 stars for the dvd media, the song "I Know What I Like" freeze during the playback on dvd. This is a double layers dvd and the change between the layers is probably in this song.
But it's a must for the fans of the old Genesis and Nad Sylvan is giving a strong performance. Steve is excellent.
Just forget the song "I Know What I Like" and buy it !

First a small note. I played my copy on a Blu-ray player and found no issues [at I Know What I Like].
Ok. A long time fan, like a good chunk of people prefer the older form of the band, this could almost be considered a greatest hits.
The lead singer, Nad Sylan, was probably taken for his voice that reminds me of Peter Gabriel's voice from that era [and a bit of Phil Collins]. You can tell how Tony Banks is as a keyboardist when this band needs two keyboardists to do what Banks did on his own.
Interesting to note that drummer Gary O'Toole shares in the vocals [aside from the guest vocalists which include Nick Kershaw and John Wetton].
Marillion's Steve Rothery is another one of the guests on the DVD.
As for production, the sound is quite good but not incredible. I have seen better camera work. Too much camera views from the back of the Hammersmith.
What I also didn't care for is that they crammed the concert of almost 162 minutes on one DVD and a "Behind the Scenes" documentary [at under 38 minutes]. The DVD concert suffers a bit in video quality. Would of preferred to stop the concert at the intermission before the first encore [at least] and continue on the second DVD.

This is my absolute FAVORITE era of Genesis! Steve Hackett is an incredibly talented guitarist and song writer. This is the next best thing to actually seeing Genesis live during the seventies. Steve has surrounded himself with equally talented musicians for his band, and the flamboyant Nad Sylvan not only adds some drama, but his vocals have a characteristic not unlike those of both Gabriel and Collins. It's also cool to have special guest performers (Marillion's Steve Rothery is my favorite). The reproduction of the songs sound amazingly close to original, and on 5.1 surround, how can you go wrong? If you like the the music from Genesis' Nursery Cryme all the way until Wind and Wuthering, you're sure to love this set of discs!

I have always been a Genesis fanatic from Peter Gabriel days, then Phil Collins and now Steve Hackett. The solo music of Tony Banks, Michael Rutherford, Phil, Tony and Steve are great as well. What sets Genesis apart is their absolutely wonderful musicianship, vocals and lyrics that bring their stories to life and especially create an aura of adventure. I think of Harold the Barrel, Battle of Epping Forest and Deep in the Motherlode as the Genesis sound and this concert does not deviate away from that but rather says that Genesis is still very unique, highly enjoyable and very much a musical adventure. Excellent package... however there is one glitch during I Know What I Like on the DVD... When I play it in the Blu Ray player, it skips, hangs, etc during this song... I play it in my DVD player and its all good... No issues otherwise. Love the performances of the classic Gabriel era Genesis, as well as the rest of the material. Nice to hear some tracks from Wind and Wuthering as well!

A superb concert in every aspect of it. A must see for every Steve Hackett and Genesis fan. It is magnetic, once you start watching it is hard to stop, I will see them live in a few days in Toronto and I hope to see the same guys who performed at Hammersmith. Genesis Revisited delivers!

Steve Hackett has assembled a great band to revisit classics of the Genesis repertoire. Hackett is in superb form on this show and the sound take in 5.1 surround is remarkable.
The band is still on tour in 2014 and I will be sure to catch the show in my area!
