Format:Hardcover
Geosystems is a first year Physical Geography textbook. The physical book is rather light (for a hardcover) and features full colour figures and photographs; both of which are positives. These were the only positives!

The 'Canadian' content of this Physical Geography textbook is pathetic. Examples are given with American cities, American frames of reference, and American points of view. The 'Canadian' portions only occur when something could vaguely be associated with both Canada and the United States and consist of appending 'and Canada' to the sentence. Putting aside the failings of the Canadian edition, the textbook is also preachy and unprofessional. I never expected lengthy diatribes against commercialization, SUV owners, or legislation (American) in a SCIENCE textbook. If you're an educator, please find another book. I don't care if it's heavy and in black and white.

I find the textbook easy to use and the additional resouces that acompany the text, helpful in gaining a deeper understanding of subject area and are a great study aid.
